The programs of roughly one in five games the Raiders played in their first decade.
The very first game. In what was just our third scrimmage, the Dallas Texas defeated a spirited Raiders team 20-13.

Despite a valient effort from Tony Teresa, Oakland fell to the New York Titans 31-28 at Candlestick Park.

The AFL champion Houston Oilers were given a wonderful gift from their owner Bud Adams, training camp in Hawaii! There were also a couple of exhibition games there On August 11, 1961 the Houston Oilers had thier way with the Oakland Raiders 35-17.

One that got away. On October 15, 1961 the Raiders blew a lead at Denver's Bears Stadium and lost 27-24 to the Broncos

This November 5, 1961 game in Buffalo's War Memorial Stadium was the first of a long four-game road swing. Oakland's 31-22 win would be their last for 19 games.

Buffalo would win the December 3, 1961 Candlestick rematch 26-21.

Mired in a 19-game losing slide, Oakland fell for the 12th consecutive time at War Memorial Stadium 14-6.

On August 17, 1963, the Oakland Raiders visited the University of washington's Memorial Stadium in Seatlle. Their 35-21 loss to Kansas City was the first preseason defeat suffered by a young coach named Al Davis.

Opening Week 1963! For the first time in their history, the Oakland Raiders would earn a victory in their season opener, downing the Oilers 24-13 at Houston's Jeppeson Stadium.

Their second loss of 1963 to the Boston Patriots. Both games resulted in 20-14 Patriot wins. This would be the final defeat of coach Al Davis' rookie season.

The Buffalo Bills were on their way to their first AFL Championship on October 3, 1964 when they beat the reeling Raiders (who would begin the season with a 1-7-1 record 23-20 at War Memorial Stadium.

The Raiders first trip to Fenway Park resulted in their first ever tie. The Wild West show AFL football is often remembered for resulted in a 43-point deadlock with the Patriots on October 16, 1964.

While the Patriots game was the first time in 1964 the raiders managed not to lose, their 31-17 loss on November 1, 1964 to the Chargers in Balboa Stadium helped to dim the luster of their first win of the season one week prior.

The Raiders met with the New York Jets on October 16, 1965, the result was a 24-point tie.

The first Raiders meeting with Buffalo in 1965 resulted in a 17-12 loss to the AFL Champions.

No trip east in the AFL lasted a single weekend. As a result, Oakland met with the Buffalo Bills at Memorial Stadium However, Buffalo swept the season series with a 30-21 win.

The Boston Patriots came to Frank Youell Field on October 24, 1965 and left a 30-21 loser!

Oakland took a flight home from Denver on November 21, 1965 after a 28-20 win over the Broncos.

The Raiders sole regular season loss of 1967 came in New York, where the nedia had dubbed their defensive unit "The 11 Angry Men."

The tide had turned for Oakland in 1967, their 24-20 win over Buffalo was thier fourth of the season in five games.

A week prior to winning thier first ever division championship, Oakland complete a sweep of the San Diego Chargers 41-21 in Balboa Stadium.

On Christmas Eve 1967, the Oakland Raiders concluded a 13-1 regular season with a sloppy 21-14 win over the Bills at The Coliseum.

As a result of their division title, the Oakland Raiders hosted the AFL championship game. After dispatching the Houston Oilers 40-7, the Raiders were bound for the second AFL/NFL Championship game, which would be renamed "The Super Bowl" one year later.

That same one year later, Oakland had returned to the AFL Championship game. The results were quite different as the Raiders fell 27-23 and the Jets would represent the AFL in the third Super Bowl.

No post-merger exhibition season was complete without an Oakland/San Francisco match-up. The Raiders stomped the 49ers 42-28 at the original home for each team Kezar Stadium.
